Mozzarella cheese, real mozzarella cheese, is one of my favorite foods. Even pre-shredded mozzarella cheese is absolutely tasty to me. But the real stuff? Nearly divine. Add in some grape tomatoes, fresh basil, and a balsamic glaze and you’re looking at a delicious snack or appetizer.

I believe that grape tomatoes give a better texture than regular tomatoes so that there is more of the crisp skin and less of the mushy inside. If you don’t have fresh basil, dried basil can be substituted, but the taste won’t be of the same fresh quality, and you’ll miss some of the aroma. The key to this recipe, though, is finding quality mozzarella. At the grocery store, look for a mozzarella log or ball, not a cheese block. You want the kind that pulls apart easily, not something that looks like it needs shredded.
Wash the grape tomatoes and slice in half. Slice the mozzarella or pull apart with your fingers, then add in bite size pieces to the bowl. Top with chopped basil and a generous drizzle of balsamic glaze. Easy peasy Caprese Salad.

Easy Caprese Salad
Ingredients
- 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 cup Grape Tomatoes
- 4 tbsp Basil
- 1.5 tbsp Balsamic Glaze
Instructions
- Cut or tear mozzarella cheese into bite site pieces. Slice grape tomatoes in half. Chop basil.
- Combine cheese, tomatoes, and basil. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the salad.
